Question about Professions.

Happy New Year to all,

After many tortured hours of thought, reading, more thinking..even more reading... I have finally decided to drop a profession and take another.

Currently I am a 375 Alchemist, 375 Herbalist and I do enjoy the drinks I can make, some are just nasty...

My gear is good... well, I think its good LOL. However, from reading the guides, asking questions, reading.. I have decided that perhaps I am underequiped by not having tailoring for the Frozen Shadoweave and the bonus to the spell strike set.

Soooo

I have decided to drop the herbs in favor of tailoring

Is this the right choice?

I do not rely on herbs to make cash, I mostly use what I make on myself or my guildies.

I do not like the idea of grinding for months on end in pvp, getting frustrated as all heck in BG's, or getting owned in arena due to inferior gear, trying to get better gear to run the instances to get the great gear.
I have racked my brains for months on this question... sighs... and still have doubts about dropping the herbs, sure I can buy them...but some are damm expensive on my server.

Is the shadowweave set that worth it?

As a destruction lock, sure the shadow bonus is sweet. However I use all my spells, fire and shadow, so I am wondering now what will happen to those spells if I go to just shadow damage bonus.
