Hmmm, I am not sure how that would work for the multiple mobs at the same time since trinket and amp curse usually have fairly long cool downs? That would only work for the first mob right?
Also, maybe I'm wrong about the utility of when to cast UA because of Curse of Agony getting better damage the longer it is on the mob, but wouldn't you cast UA before Curse of Agony or after even just immediately after Curse of Agony because UA has a cast time? By the time you've thrown 3 instant dots in the above example, the mob would be pretty close to you and starting to hit on you making the UA longer cast...
As an afflock I'd also like to up my damage and take on multiple mobs. I can pretty much do it, but I'm still playing with my damage. I found my total damage was higher as demonology with felguard out. And taking on several mobs at once was pretty easy because felguard gets aggro on one while I dot it up, then I send felguard to the next and dot it up.. .and by the time I send felguard to a 3rd, the first is close to done.
But with the felpup out, I find as affliction, I'm the one with direct aggro... So I use fear (esp. instant howl of terror) a lot more as the CC.
Typically when fighting even level mobs, I tend to do UA (because of cast time), then corr (higher damage in the first 10 seconds or so than Curse of Agony), Curse of Agony, SL (now that the mob is probably now beating on me), and then drain life-tank. With 6 shadow effects including 1 point in shadow embrace, drain life heals pretty good. And night fall also procs pretty often with so many shadow damage ticks. So if I get one NF, and then a shadow burn, mob is dead very quickly and I have little mana or life problems .
I've toyed with opening shadow bolt, and then UA, and that also works pretty well because UA can get off some cast time while the shadow bolt takes time to travel to the target. But I find the rhythm to not work well for me and I find myself having less mana even if I am dark pacting.
