Re: Selling my Shadowcloth CD

I would agree that it is what the market will bear. But since shadow cloth is not just the cooldown but about the time farming for netherweave, the arcane dust to create imbued netherweave, and the time farming for the primals needed for shadow cloth, then it's really more like the price difference between buying the mats and the actual shadow cloth cost on the AH that would be what the cooldown itself costs.

With that said, that's probably not the whole story. Last night on my server, I saw primals trying to be sold for about 15g a pop which would be 30g for 2 primals needed, and the cloth being about 40g or so. And the arcane dust to make the imbued netherweave plus the netherweave itself is probably like 10g.

So I think the cooldown isn't worth too much on my server.

Maybe it is if you are a shadowweave tailor though. In that case you get 2 cloth for the same mats, so if you sell someone your cooldown and they give you the mats for 1 shadow, then you'll actually make 2 and theoretically be able to keep one for free (and then sell THAT for 40g -- that's where you'll make the profit for "selling" your cooldown for free). So it's possible a shadowweave tailor would do the work for free because they get the two-fer. But no other tailor would want to do that.

I could be wrong since I've only just started making shadow cloth 2 nights ago and only just started paying attention the prices. So the short term trend might not be the long term trend.

Especially as it seems people cannot buy gold so easily this week due to Chinese New Year holidays (gold farmers are all on vacation!). The economy has probably gone closer to normal and people actually may need to be more frugal with their gold instead of some people not thinking 2x about dropping 1000g when they can just buy more. At least temporarily.
