WHY/HOW is Affliction > Destro pre T6 (just don't see it)
Ok. I am terribly sorry if this has been discussed somewhere.. but i've wasted hours trying to find out WHY/HOW seemingly the entire Warlock community thinks that Affliction does more dps than Destro at even a T4 level?
I am the Class Leader in a 3 month old guild and basically... I am having a hard time telling my locks to go affliction JUST because the community says they should. The numbers I see on the charts when we have an Affy lock just pale in comparison to a destro lock.
I mean.. I've got 750 raw +damage locks with less than 100 hit rating... maybe 16 - 18% crit. (buffed) Pulling 800 - 900dps as destro and nearly topping the charts in Kara / Gruuls.
Either they all SUCK as Affy locks... or I/They are missing some fundamental secrets to playing/spec'ing an Affy lock. And granted I can come VERY close to 1000dps as an Affy lock.. I'd consider myself pretty good at keeping DoT's up.
Me personally... with 3/5 T4, 3/3 FSW, Kara/Badge epics..

+1030 Shadow damage (w/Only Fel Armor)
With just a Shammy.. about 30% crit. (I'd guess about 17% before talents)
I am consistently topping the charts with about 1100 - 1300 dps sustained through the fights.. and easily doing well over 50k more damage than the #2 spot. Technically my gear shouldn't even be Destro worthy yet...
What am I missing?
Please feel free to scourge/whip/beat me into submission.. I'm just sick of feeling like I'm an outsider in the numbers I see. I have respec'd over and over.. trying 0/40/21, SL/SL, 41,3,17, 0/21/40, etc... No dice.

P.S. If Affliction CAN/IS truly the better route.. I NEED TO KNOW HOW... what do the numbers show?? (Surrender your mysteries to Zoidberg)
