About profession this is my advice:

- level 1-70: herbalism and mining (2 gathering that provide the most income. Use herbalism radar because mines are easier to spot. Once in a while you might need to go out to level up mining)

- level 70: drop mining and level up tailoring. Herbalism is an extremely useful profession since you will always need herbs for pots, elixirs and flasks. What you don't need, sell. Tailoring allows you to equip yourself in epic gear that will last for a long time... and will make your game a lot more fun, even if you don't plan to do end game raiding.
