Sure, I'll admit that those last ten levels can go very quickly if you really get into it and do tons of quests. It goes even faster if you have a partner leveling with you as you can then tackle those group quests pretty easily. And perhaps, if your last few levels in Azeroth went slowly due to there being a lack of players to help out, you may find that leveling in Azeroth is long as well.
But speaking from my own personal experiences, leveling took me a lot longer to go up one level in the Outland than it ever did in Azeroth. I did have a lot of fun along the way, and I'm typically one that likes to stop and smell the roses by reading all the quests for lore, and leveling my professions as I go. The OP sounds like that kinda person as well. I merely say that it will take longer to level from my personal experience as well as blizzards claim back when BC came out that they designed Outland to take as long to level in as going from levels 1 - 50.
