First of all, DPS itselves says absoluty NOTHING, DPS in wow is the Damage Per Second WHEN you cast per cast... and it says nothing about your total damage compaired to the timespan.

If you look at the total damage done and relate it to the timespan of the fight, your dps was even lower, it would be 840 ;)

As you look at Zaviton, his dps was higher then yours, but actually it's 735 instead of 942

Anyway if I look at your build, there is room for some improvements, reach is one major issue for you.
The be imba pages tells you problems you got gear wise.

when you hit is around 202, you choise for affiction will not improve your damage much, starting on destro specs might be a option to improve more
