I seriously put the "goodness" of priests into question. How someone who uses shadow powers to twist the minds of his/her enemies, drain their energies, or even temporarily take control over their minds, is ever considered "good" is beyond me. Priests can be do-gooders like paladins, but they also can be as "evil" as you can get. It all depends on how you see and roleplay your character.
That said, a do-gooder paladin can also slaughter thousands of the ones his faith sees as "unfit", just for the so-called "greater good".
