so glad I wasn't the only one who looks at pictures rather than thinking about the words next door to them 
Once I'd sorted the need/greed thing I had interface problems; I was actually using the UI arrows to scroll up and down my spell selections mid fight with inevitable results; I keep hitting howl of terror instead of my nuke of choice. I got shouted at again I survived.
