Yeah, I agree on that. Unfortunately near the end of last year my computer took a pretty big crit from Mother Nature. I nearly lost all my data. Thankfully I've restored it and now have redundant backups in place to keep everything safe. Plus a much beefier UPS setup as well. To keep costs down (I was pushing $700) I chose the Motherboard/cpu combo you see above as i was able to continue using Ram I already had plenty of and yet have access to the "new" PCI Express techonologies.

Nope, well, not really. I did install 2 new addons for the Death Knight I made. RuneWatch and ComeHere. Both seem to be rather small compared to others I had been using for some time now (Auctioneer, Cartographer, QuestHelper). My Hard Drive had about 30% free space when these issues happened. I had thought about that as well, and uninstalled several programs to free up space for Windows. it is now has about 50% free. The Hard Drive is 300gb in size, with 90gb on the Windows partition and an additional 90gb on the partition WoW resides (also with 50% free space).

You may consider disabling both of those for a spell to see if that's the cause.

My computer is setup to do the check points and such at 2am. It also does a complete back-up at 3am once a week. They weren't running when all this happened.

Yeah, me too. Thanks for the advice. I hope to get this wrapped up quickly. If it is a Hard Drive problem, I think I'll actually be happy. Hard Drives are cheap right now, and I have all my stuff backed up. So really it would be a matter of swapping the drive out with another and setting it up. Much better than if, oh, say the CPU was burnt out.

I was on Road Runner Lite which is a reduced bandwidth to compete with DSL is what I was told. Even now I am only getting 30 FPS at best when I used to get 50 or better so something changed in the graphics engine.

I thought about this too, but the fact that the game runs smoothly even when the settings are turned down kinda tells me that its an issue with the computer itself. I say this because, and correct me if I'm wrong, the game imports the same data regardless of your video settings. The quality you view everything at relies mainly on your hardware and what it can handle. I know my system can play wow at the highest settings smoothly already, as it has done so for two weeks before this issue. That and this issue also affects other applications that don't use the internet. Basically everything the computer does results in slow performance and a noisy hard drive.
Thanks for the help though, I do have some network issues that I'm sure are contributing to things. I'll have a look at them when i get the rest of this resolved.
