Re: Making the Aff. Rotation Less of a Monster
Yeah, sb-haunt to start is always going to be the most effective. Casting haunt after some dots means that the first ticks of those dots aren't going to benefit. For an in depth discussion see
World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums - WOTLK affliction raiding guide
I found that very useful.
As for the original topic - with the current state of affliction I agree, there is hardly time to look up and see the encounter. I have gotten pretty used to my rotation now, and so am getting used to knowing exactly how much time i have for sb spamming inbetween refreshing dots. So that's my "look up and check what's going on time". But any lapse in concentration screws the rotation, and there goes a good chunk of dps. With the current state of locks on the damage-meter (ie, struggling to top at best, and laughing stock at worst), these lapses are pretty fatal.
So, making the rotation less intensive wouldn't be such a bad idea. SL and UA are the obvious choices, being affli talents.
Then again, part of the affli attraction is that it is a challenging spec, and a refreshing change from pure SB spamming.
