Re: Frustrated Warlock - Why am I so low on the damage meters?
I run 57/14/0 in Naxx-10, 1600 self-buffed with Fel Armor (which is about 2000-2100 damage when raid buffed, including flasks, potions, food buffs, and raid buffs), around 330 spell hit, and 10% crit. My DPS on bosses varies widely.
The World of Warcraft Armory
1940 on a failed Thaddius attempt
2400 on Gluth (due to SoC spam)
1660 on Grobbulus (but still 2nd place)
2700 on Patchwerk
So there's definite DPS capability in affliction, even without Bane / Cataclysm / ISB. I'm a bit of a rebel when it comes to not putting any points at all in Destruction.
My spell rotation is centered around casting Haunt every 8-10 seconds. So a typical opening rotation would be:
Curse (usually CoE)
Corruption, Siphon Life, Haunt
UA, Immolate, SBolt
After that, Haunt gets re-cast as a priority, and Shadow Bolts only get cast as a filler (or when Necrosis announced a Shadow Trance). Plus I'm inserting Life Taps about every other Haunt to keep my mana above 50%. And below 25% health, I'm making sure that Corruption, Haunt and Siphon Life are on the target while I use Drain Soul.
Hell of a lot of work keeping all those DoTs up and running on the target, but interesting and keeps me awake.
