I can't say that I agree. I have personally seen WWS parses showing there is a clear advantage to chaos bolt and affliction builds in terms of "top dps". And, I would be remiss if I didn't mention what the maximum possible performance was of each spec. For warlocks looking to get the best performance they can, they'll want to know which specs can provide them with the best. Once they learn a spec, their dps will continue to go up with their gear, and so on.
