Before I had started spending my honor points, I did briefly look the gear of top destro warlocks on:
World of Warcraft Arena Ranking | SK Gaming
Here are some observations:
- +crit PvP pieces (over the +haste pieces) are almost always used.
(crit is useful in PvP for the same reason defense is useful for tanks in PvE - an exceptional RNG and that's the end --- as a result, resilience is important).
- they mostly don't gem for crit.
. The most usual gemming is offensive+defensive
(like the gem 9 spell power + 8 resilience). Spell power + something can't be wrong ^^
. some of them have more offensive gems (like jewelcraft +32 SP)
. a few have a majority of defensive gems
(like the gem 8 resilience + 12 stamina)
- typical total resilence is 800 (range 600-950)
- typical hit is around 130 (but having 100% chance to hit rather than 95% is not very useful if you are not well geared already, and die all the time)
- typical spell penetration is around 130 - but note that much of this comes from cloack enchant + arena weapons (wand and offhand) ; several lower rated warlocks (#300 ...) have 0 spell penetration.
- enchants:
. must have:
Inscription of Dominance
,
Arcanum of Dominance
and
Sapphire Spellthread
. the rest is spell power in majority safe for one or two enchants
* Trying to find non-honor gear for PvP is an headache ; I guess the most useful would be the tailoring blues. I don't know if it is more useful to gem/enchant defensively if half of your gear is still PvE for instance.
