My main is a rogue, so i know how most of them think. You cannot counter shadow step or Premeditation which gives 2 combo points, ambush can give 3 more point and that allows a full 5 point kidney shot or finishing move. Plus Preparation removes all cool downs allowing another cloak and vanish, etc.
One trick i learned in battle grounds fighting rogues or Druids, if you have time and have you fel guard out, park your FG in defense mode and run 15-20 yards away. When the rogue hits, the FG intersepts, stuns and gives you some extra time to DC or instant Howl. The way cloak and vanish are bugged in the current version, you can have SOME chance of fighting back. On my rogue, i have killed full health warlocks, priests and Druids on thier horse before they even dismount and try to fight back.
