First lvl 80 arena experience - what a dissapointment... :-/
Have some level 70 arena experience from about 1 1/2 year ago, and highest I got then (only decent gear) was around 1750, so no top player exactly.
BUT - Tried with a mage partner now for the first time in Wrath of the Lich King, and I have to say I understand why warlock representation is low in the arenas - what a frustrating experience. I can see why warlocks stepping in to the arena for the first time often don't come back.
I have some qq'ing with questions - looking for help here:
1. The ready area - what a pain.. summoning pet, buffing, trading hs and having to apply spellstone on wep. Is it possible to make a macro to do all these things in succession?
2. Warlock is no.1 target always!.. perhaps because we are easy to kill? Even with my SL (&destro) build and demon armor (only around 500 resi yet tho) warriors and rogues burn me down in basically a few seconds. I can remember level 70 arena, and it was VERY different back then. First four matches now had a rogue that tore me apart - what a joke. I was trying to trinket on kidney shot and dc - delayed my death a couple of seconds only. Rogues are just totally impossible to beat for me I think.
3. CC not working. Is it my bad play or are there just so many counters to warlock cc these days? Fear?... never seemed to work. Shadowflame glyph? They are already so close Im hamstringed or stunned anyway...
4. Casting times. So SL/destro relies on immolate, CB and incinerate cast times.. I just hardly seemed to get these spells working in 2x2 with me being the target all the time - perhaps its just the wrong spec for 2x2? Affliction with shorter cast times is perhaps better - and gives better survival? Or would that be best with a healing parter, as it has zero burst potential?
5. Partner.. ok so a mage is perhaps not ideal? Is there a de-facto standard for what kind of team and partner I should look for. E.g. is it with a healer (and then perhaps affliction?) or is with another dps (which is why I am sl/destro, thinking that was best for burst...)?
6. Pet... Should we summon voidwalker, sacrifice, dismiss, then summon succy or felhunter? (more pain in starting area... sigh).
