This could be one of your reasons:
Shadow Bite-Bite the enemy, causing X Shadow damage plus an additional 5% damage for each of your damage over time effects on the target.
Kinda nice if you're Afflic.
The spirit and intellect buffs are nice too....I use him all the time in instances...he's my mana battery ^^
