Re: 2v2 arena spec
To specify what D1RE is referring to is Fel Armor no longer regenerates a percent of our HP passively. Currently it will give us 3% of our HP back for every single target damaging spell we cast. Specced into Demonic Ageis it ups it to 6% when we have 2/2 talent points in it.
So essentially it normalized Affliction self heals but dumped on Destruction and Demonology. As well they removed Drain Mana from the game which was primarily a 2v2 spell to help counter heal/DPS teams. Go figure Blizz claims they center PvP around 3v3 and 5v5 but remove a spell that shows true benefit in 2's.
The reason demonology is not as hurt as destruction in this case is because of (In my opinion) Meta-form is a nice big melee reduction cooldown. 600% more armor for 36 seconds means those big mean warriors/ DKs/ Rogues/ Hunters too...I think won't be hitting us as hard with their white swings. But because Destro and Demo generally rely on longish cast times (Demo more than destruction) and our DoTs are not as potent as affliction (I'm referring to Immolate, Bane of Agony and Corruption) compounded on the fact that most of demo and destros damage come from non periodic affects (yes a lot of DoT damage still of course is used but Affliction is literally all DoTs) Demo and Destro are more prone to having our self heals shut down through simply being stun locked. And did I almost forget the fact that all DoTs are simply a cleanse away from not being up on a target and all of a sudden the limited DoT healing we were recieving is now gone and we are stunned indefinately as our HP drops to nothing. That is what 4.0.6 did to lock 2v2s.
EDIT: As well with the loss of suffecient self healing every life tap we use to try and regain some of that precious resource we call mana drops us closer to death so much so that a healer/DPS comp could probably sit there and wait for me to Oom and as I try to press my assualt by using life tap I end up being uber jumped and it all would start with my own hand.
