Crib what youre missing is WHY affl is better in rateds. It has very little to do with the amount of damage you put out. The main reason is UA. There is no spell in the game like it, it doesn't DR itself, and when I can get UA's out on the entire other team on a huge WW push in gilneas for example, the enemy healers are having a bitch of a time cleansing novas etc off their team and lots of healers are eating silence/20k hits from the cleanse of UA. That one spell alone makes it the stronger RBG spec. If they want someone who can do aoe damage, there are plenty of classes who do that well (including affl) but there isn't any one thing that a meta lock brings that no one else does.

When setting up rated groups its all about "why should I bring you over someone else". Not about why should I bring you period.
