You receive this quest when you turn level 30, at the Warlocks guild in The Undercity. Talk to Carendin at the summoning circle. You are to travel to Ratchet, which isn't a difficult task. Take the zeppelin to Orgrimmar, grab a bat to the Crossroads and walk east to Ratchet. (You are to return here after the next step, and may want to bind your hearthstone here to cut some traveling time)
You can find Strahad in the northernmost area of Ratchet. Talk to him for the next step. He sends you back to The Undercity again to talk to
Jorah Annison. You can find Jorah right across the Warlock guild (
map). According to Jorah you now have two items to find, one in Thousand Needles, and one by Southshores coast.
If you happen to have the flight path to the Freewind Post in Thousand Needles, you can fly there. If you don't, take a windrider to the Crossroads and follow the road south (
map). When you come down the lift, hug the cliff wall and head for the first cave (
map). There are a few mobs scattered around but nothing to really worry about. You will start to see a few Centaurs as you get closer to the cave, all soloable. When you head into the cave follow the wall to your right, as you move down that you will see water running though, hop over that and on the other side, up on the left you will find the damaged chest.
The Moldy Tome is west of Southshore, in the Hillsbrad Foothills. Its easiest to take a bat to Tarren Mill if you've been there. If you dont have the flight route to Tarren Mill, take the bat to the Sepulcher. Go south and then east from there to enter Hillsbrad Foothills. If you took this route, follow the red line on the image to get to the Moldy Tome. There are numerous Murloc camps here, so make sure you get to the exact location of the purple dot. You will have to clear the camp to get to the book. It is soloable, but can be tricky due to adds.
Now that you have both items, report back to Jorah in The Undercity to turn the items in and receive further instruction. Jorah tells you that Strahad sent a message stating his acolytes will require three rods of channeling to assist with the summoning of the Felhunter. To acquire these you need to head back to The Wetlands and kill Dragonmaw's, specifically the spell casters.
The route to the Wetlands should be familiar after doing the Succubus quest. Travel to the area in purple, and start killing orcs. I have not seen any melee orc drop a rod, so you will have to find your way to some caster-type orcs, easily recognizable by the robes they wear.
Once you have all three head back to Ratchet. Once you get to Strahad, hand in both the book and the rods. He will now tell you that you are ready to summon and destroy the Felhunter in order to obtain one of your own. Strahad will tell you to be ready and lead you into the area just to the left of him. I recommend making sure you have a pet up before you do the hand in as I waited and found I didn't really have the time after he started walking.
There you go, the Felhunter is yours! He holds the middle ground in hitpoints and damage output between succubus and voidwalker. He's especially good against casters, and can help you and nearby allies detect rogues sneaking up on you.
