Re: [Naxx]Instructor Ravious
We killed instructor for the first time this week (after numerous painful wipes.) We tried several different strats but here's what eventually worked for us. I'm pulling alot of this from a thread on our forum since don't know all that much about other classes and their strategies. So I may not be telling you anything you don't know already, but every little bit helps, right?
As far the warlocks go, SS the 2 MC'ng priests and stay out of LOS during his shout if you have lots of mana. During the last couple of transitions, several of us stayed out during the shout with almost no mana since it only burns the same amount of health as your available mana.
If you're facing the ramp, all our DPS stood off to the right behind the banister out of LOS. Evidently LOS doesn't affect MC, so the priests were over with DPS, just barely out of LOS for instructor.
We have a mage pull and iceblock and the warriors pull the adds off while the first student is being MCd.
Keep amplify magic on the students to help with healing and NO sunders on the students.
Every debuff possible on instructor to weaken his armor and attack. He hits for an insane amount of damage, so no CoR for us.
Rogues don't feint during the fight so if a MC is resisted or a student dies, they'll hopefully be the one to pull agro and they can evasion tank him.
Keeping the adds up without shield wall was tough for us, so the incoming tank would be MCd and healed back up with about 5 sec or so left on shield wall. They would have the 2nd MC pet autoattack, the current priest would call that shield wall was dropping, the new MC tank would immediately taunt and pop shield wall and the other priest would immediately drop MC. While the new MC tank was being moved in position, a tank will move in to pick up the one whose shield wall is about to drop.
The warriors and priests worked out a rotation on the students. Our priests never moved from their safe spot out of LoS. Right before time to MC the next student, the tank would drag that student into range of the priest to start the next transition. Once the pet was MCd, the rest of the healers would get it back up to full health while it was being moved into position. We'd tried waiting to drop the MC until after the pet was healed up, but since we switch pets so quick, after the first rotation we'd occasionally have to wait before another student was ready to be MCd.
Hope that helps!
