The Venture Company Geologists is a good place to grind xp if you're level 36. I don't know how safe the area is on a pvp server, but it's usually not too populated. They're plentiful, and if you have a chance to kill the machine dudes, they might drop fused wiring.

Trust me, geting ganked by 60 people who are waiting for the arena chest to spawn/ZG/etc. is not fun.
Although when I reached 60 myself and helped a guildmate's alt level the zone suddenly felt much better.
