This is like complaining about the Succubus at level 20.

When you get a Felguard at level 50, he isn't going to do anything amazing.

Like darkblayde said, Intercept and Cleave are where it's at. His Cleave will keep multiple enemies on him without even needing to cast Anguish. If one of the enemies decides to come after you, the Felguard's intercept will nail it, and all the guys will be on him stillm you just scoot back. Unlike when a mob resists torment or suffering and the voidwalker can't catch up with the mob to keep it off of you.

Demonic Frenzy also increases his attack power as the attack rages on, so don't think of his dps like the other pets. Demonic Frenzy increases his attack power by 5% and stacks 10 times.

Use your VW to tank with for now, I know it's frustrating, but at least wait until you get his rank 1 abilities.

When you go to Outland, and you're questing, you'll definately want him over the VW. There will be so many people running around ganking that you need something with both PvP and PvE utility. People ignore pets and go straight for you, the Felguard makes them regret that. :-)
