I got WoW to install and run on ArchLinux through the Wine program. Things were going well, and I was in process to switch my UI from its addon-heavy state to a more fit-and-trim setup with OpenRDX. Then it happened...

My hardware was being autodetected fine, once I set my BIOS options to allow ACPI to work correctly. But it would seem that either my PC is on the way out, or autodetecting was not stable. It would switch whether or not it understood ACPI just about every 2 to 3 boot-ups....

So I had my first guild ninja today...I feel like I hit a minor mildstone..more on that later.

So starting my own guild was the best decision I've made. There hasn't really been an increase in stress because I can make my own decisions and not worry about offending my GM. I was already doing all the GM stuff without any of the control.

I haven't heard anything from the leadership in the old guild, but they probably won't...

So we had a naxx run tonight. I'm not going to rage blog because I don't think any of you want to read that but I will post the lessons I learned and try and figure out what happens now.

So life is kinda at a stand still right now, also I'm in the US and getting ready for the month of holidays here (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) as well as various other events.

We have Naxx on sunday and the only thing to do is work on a player who has a few RL issues which prevents them from playing wow as much as needed to get geared for naxx by sunday.

The person loves wow and the guild and are skilled, but they're just not going to be ready in time. So I blew...

I get Gentoo Linux installed, recompile the kernel about a dozen times to get the necessary options in there... and STILL Wine refuses to cooperate. I did have a few issues with getting Gentoo installed that I've never run into before. Namely a failure to completely boot with either the framebuffer enabled or ACPI power management on. And to frustrate matters further, every tine I had to compile the kernel, ACPI would re-enable...
