Naxx. Post patch 3.0.8. Sucks!!
Ok, so perhaps a slight over exaggeration, but nether the less, it wasn't exactly a great raid for me. With the Hunter nerfs, I mean changes, through, I knew I was going to see a change in my damage. I had high hopes that the change would be from spot #2 to maybe #4 at worse. I didn't expect to drop all the way back to eighth.

I can't blame it all on the changes. I was really lagged out last night, to the point I wanted to break my keyboard. Being a Steady Shot macro spamming fiend, even just trying to refresh Serpent Sting was not easy. And now, trying to throw in an Arcane Shot meant even more trouble.
Over all I was having a very off night. I kept fumbling and feeling like I was struggling to even load my arrow into my bow, let alone shoot it straight. As I watched the damage meters all night, yes yes I know you're not meant to watch them, I kept checking to make sure I was using the correct rank arrows, that my bow wasn't broken or I was somehow raiding in my delicates. Nope, right arrows, bow working and *ting ting* yup, in my mail gear. I just suck.
I've started looking into the Survival tree which is apparently the tree at the moment. A lot of the talents certainly look fun. I keep reading how "different" the play style is however, and it's confusing me. Different? Really?

Beastmastery Hunter - Shoot Arrows
Marks Hunter - Shoot Arrows
Survival Hunter - Shoot... um... arrows?
Ok so yes there are different abilities to spam, but essentially it's all the same play style. At least as a Warlock the three trees are different:

Affliction Warlock - DoTs, more DoTs, and more powerful DoTs
Demonology Warlock - Imp, and Succy, and Felguard, oh my!
Destuc.... BOOM!
Oh well, we'll wait and see. At this stage I'm going to investigate the Survival tree a little more, see what it's all about. Anything to not suck as bad. #6 spot was a WARLOCK!!! *ducks*
Bosses deadified last night:
- Sartharion
- Anub'Rekhan, Grand Widow Faerlina and Maexxna from Spider Wing
- Noth the Plaguebringer and Heigan the Unclean from the Plague Quarter. Yes we can dance....

Clearly you need to go back to playing your warlock... I was #2 DPS on Patchwerk last night after the fixes to hunters and rogues went through - right behind an enhancement shammy - and #6 overall.
Seriously, there's nothing wrong with #8 in a 25-man. (As I'm sure you know on some level). It's more worrisome if you're not even keeping up with the tanks in terms of DPS...Posted January 23, 2009 at 10:36 AM by Silbuns

Your DPS parse shows you 2nd best hunter from damage done, time active. I'm going to assume hunter nr 1 (place 4) outgeared the other hunters given the damage done difference between him and the rest of you. I won't play sherlock holmes and armory you guys though.
It is always best to compare yourself to the other players of your class, and you out damaged them apart from the one who must outgear you because he did 7 M damage and you had 5.5 mil, the other hunters in the top 10 did under 5 mil. If this was an "off" night, of which I had my own fair (or unfair
) share, you obviously were doing better than others. there are generally 16-18 dps in a 25 man raid, 8th of 16-17 really isnt that bad.Posted January 25, 2009 at 03:37 PM by Derzerfetzer

Yeah I certainly wasn't completely horrible, but 8 is a very long slide down from 2. :( And yeah, the other Hunter above me has about 50% better gear than me. The Hunter just underneath me though, from my understanding is only now just gearing up... O.o!
And yes, it may be time to dust off the Warlock and get her to 80. From my current runs, Warlocks are doing nicely!Posted January 25, 2009 at 06:15 PM by Akasha

Well I don't want to dissuade you from dusting the lock off, but if you check bigredkitty you'll see a survival how to that shows how to get the most out of the lock and load. Looks like four main things to keep up with, and compaired to lock cooldowns it should be a pice of cake.Posted January 26, 2009 at 03:36 AM by nitromoose

thats right i said it
whassup whassup idk about all this WOW nonsense but I think the most accurate portrayal of WOW players was probably the episode of South Park where Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny turn into fat, disgusting, lazy slobs while playing just to beat out another fat, disgusting, lazy slob. : )Posted September 21, 2011 at 11:23 PM by wOwluvver
