Blog by an aging warlock who still doesn't understand his class, underperforms in both pve and pvp, frequently gets lost during corpse runs, falls to his death off the Aldor rise, gets into vocal arguments with his pets and utterly enjoys all of this.
Relaxing after a hard day

Some days work can zap all your energy. Yesterday was such a day. After dinner I felt exhausted and tired but did not want to go to bed yet.
What are the options ? Join the wife watching a documentary on fat kids trying to loose weight on TV ? No, not interested. Read the newspaper ? Not enough energy. SL/FG farming session ? Yes - that is just what I need now.
SL/FG, as you know, is a warlock talent spec that is very popular these days. It combines Affliction talents including Siphon Life with a Felguard spec. You dot up a mob with your three instant casts (SL, Curse of Affliction and Corruption) and immediately move on to the next mob. You keep chainpulling mobs, convert some of your life into mana now and then, let SL replenish your health and let the Felguard do the rest. You can go on like this for a long time without having to stop for food or water.
So, first I run my level 72 warlock to the D.E.T.H.A. camp in Borean Tundra, give them some ears from Nesingwary followers in exchange for a nice buff. The D.E.T.H.A. guy asks: "So, what are you up to?". I reply: "Oh..nothing special, just running around a bit. Seeya!".
Then, I make my way to the plateau west of the lake. The one with dozens of rhinos. I look over my shoulder and can see the D.E.T.H.A. camp in the distance. Then... I get to work.
And I proceed to annihilate herds of rhinos. The screen fills with numbers, yellow and green. I constantly have 3-6 rhinos ineffectually trying to kill me. Soon the ground is littered with rhino corpses. At some point I have to stop because I am afraid that the corpses will dissappear before I can loot them. My lock is covered in rhinoblood from head to toes (ok - not a huge area given that I am a gnome). As I am surveying the field filled with dead rhinos large and small I think of the D.E.T.H.A. and /chuckle to myself.
I almost feel a bit sorry for the rhinos. Maybe I should have spared the young ones ? Then I remember that I am a warlock.
I kept up the rhino genocide for an hour and accumulated quite some Borean leather and the occasional arctic pelt.
It was soooo relaxing....
Highly recommended.
