For a little background, I leveled (quite painfully) to 70 on a PvP server, and grew a serious distaste for the stuff. Since my transfer Gnomeregan, I've really been able to shine -- if an evil, maniacal, shadow-obsessed demon-summoner can really "shine".I enjoy working up my own custom UI, and I build macros to make my game easier. I try to keep abreast of the UI, Addons and Macros subforum. If you have any related questions, I should see them there.

I've been a busy little warlock as of late. I've gotten three projects to at least semi-complete status.
1st: My UI is just about right. I'll consider a few color tweaks, maybe a font change, or some minor positioning modifications. But overall, I am very happy with the state of my UI.

2nd: I got my Emblem Spending Guide ready for 3.3 (minus the Emblem of Frost gear). This is a total rewrite of the guide, finally encompassing the Emblem drop changes implemented in 3.2 (and further propagated in 3.3).
3rd: I got my Pet Macro Guide updated for the macro change in 3.3. Please note the '@' in several of the macros in that guide now. This is a shortcut for 'target=', and will fail miserably until 3.3 drops. Due to the shortening of the target line, I was able to add a little more into the Succubus (Fel Domination summoning) and condense the Felhunter into one button, even for serious PvP usage.
Furthermore, I am considering rewriting my Raid Comp Guide from a different point of view. I'll have to solicit much more assistance in the new version, however. Previously, I've been looking at it from a buffs perspective. Mostly "which buffs are overlapping". I think I'm gonna try to write it from the point of view of a Raid Leader trying to recruit for a better raid comp. Using questions like "which buffs are the most important?", "who provides the best version of a buff?", and "who brings the most bang for the buff?". In 25 man raids, this is a little easier, but not so much in 10 mans. Is the "one of each class" method really that effective, or is there a point at which a second rogue would be better than a fury warrior, for example?

Thanks for posting these guides!
As an aside ref your background note, I've only been on PVP servers. Some are worse than others but they do add flavor to the game. Mal'ganis is a terrible server to level on as Alliance, but the current server I've been on the last half year is awesome (Scilla). Yes, we have some ganking, but it's fair and I've really not seen people camp or high levels just kill lowbies for the fun of it.Posted October 23, 2009 at 11:27 AM by dyson

...I must have read this sentence over and over for about 30 seconds, just trying to comprehend it...
The concept...not being ganked constantly by high levels..on a PvP server?! This exists? For being ganked is all I have ever known. Why, oh why, did my friend invite me to Stonemaul (PvP) of all places?
I was a complete noob...in retrospect, the invitation was downright cruel.
I'm being dramatic, but geez, this is seriously a mind-blowing concept.
I hates Stonemaul. I really, really hates it.
I 'll be transferring my alt to an RP server soon but it hurts to think of abandoning my friends totally because the server overall has a terrible atmosphere. I heard that the other day, some level 80 warlock was camped out in Tarren Mill for 4 hours. On a weekend. Yeah. Stonemaul is suitably named for the actual location in game - an ugly place you never want to go. /rant over. (You can tell, I'm the server ambassador!)

Hi Cormanthor! Aside from my post above, I did want to mention that I think your UI looks great! I'm a bit of a UI obsessive type myself so I'm always looking to others for ideas on how to improve my own.
Also, I'd be very curious to read your raid buffs guide for a raid leader. Although I'm neither a guild/raid leader nor a raider (yet), haha, it sounds truly interesting.Posted October 24, 2009 at 03:26 AM by Saerlaith
