You don't have to be on a role-playing server to believe that your toon has a personality. Back in my years (OK, decades) of table-top role-playing, we used to write backgrounds for our characters and hand them to the GM so that he/she could customize the campaign a little. One or more of the players would take notes each session so that the GM would have a record of what happened. Often at least one of the players would rewrite those notes from his/her character's perspective.

I am installing "Mists of Pandaria" on my computer as I type. I've got to say that the soundtrack is lovely, but other than that, I don't know a damned thing about the expansion except what I've read in a few posts here on the Den. I'm not sure that I've understood most of those:

"Chaos wave has a new visual." Er, what's chaos wave? I guess I'll be finding out shortly!
But there's another class quest, the first one in how-many years? Where do I sign up?!

It's time for me to move on past the World of Warcraft. I sat down just a little over three years ago and created my warlock with no idea that he'd last this long, let alone that he'd get exalted reputation with 29 factions, be part of a raid that killed Illidan, or spend about 7,500 gold on a fancy ring.

The Warlock's Den has been a big part of what's made the game fun, providing me with up-to-date information on the latest raiding builds and rotations, demented warlock humor,...

So we've come to the time of the year when Alliance warlocks are reduced to molesting gnomes for achievement points! No one posts about what Horde warlocks do; it's just too gruesome.

Believe it or not, some of us, even me, did get involved in this event before there were achievements. It has less to offer the practical player than many of the other holiday events: no rep, no experience, no gold, no raid-quality...
