Want some perspective on this....

I'm 3/13/55 destro spec'd, hit capped, and have always gemmed straight spellpower, following the traditional SP>Haste>Crit for destro.

I've had discussions with another lock on my realm that is the same spec, same rotation, and about the same gear level, who puts out like 1500 more dps than me every time we run together. Comparing all our stats, I have more spellpower than him, he has more haste than me. Unbuffed with Fel Armor I've got:


2876 Bonus damage
23.74% crit chance
345 Haste rating

I'm contemplating, swapping out some of my +23SP gems for +20haste to balance my stats out...problem is, it's a hella expensive thing to experiment with... thoughts?

I did just gem up my new merlin's robe +23sp in all slots... armory may still show the old robe.

As my title vaguely states, I need help in helping a friend figure out why she has low damage. I've gone over everything, asked several questions, compared our profiles/talent builds/gear/gems/enchants/etc trying to figure out the problem. Typically I'll rank a good 5-8 slots above her when we raid. The thing is, she is slightly better geared than I. For all intents and purposes, she should be doing better than I in there. I wish I could provide some real numbers, but I cleared my log without thinking to save it.

The Armory:
Pernicious
Lothlorien

Rotation: We both share the same rotation.
Immolate > Conflag > Chaos Bolt > Incinerate Spam -- Refresh Immolate without clipping it --Hit Conflag/Chaos Bolt whenever they're up.

Gear/Gems/Enchants:
She has a few pieces that go beyond what I have, and I have a few that are better than what she has. Still there isn't really anything that I can see that would contribute to such a HUGE difference in our damage.

Talents:
She has a few points in Suppression, and a PvP Talent or two, still she appears to have all the major damage talents. Nothing that much different than mine. Of course she doesn't have Improved Soul Leach, so I wonder if she finds herself life Tapping more often due to running low on Mana sooner than I do.

She also doesn't have the Glyph of the Imp. I've been wondering, is it better to have the Glyph of Life Tap as she has, or the Imp as I do?

I hope to find time to hit up a Training Dummy with her so we can conduct a few tests and see what is happening but any ideas, suggestions, or advice you guys got would be fantastic.

Try as I might I can't seem to find any decent info on my current build. My laptop restricts me to 5 man Heroes only at the moment, but I was wondering if anyone out there has any success raiding/10 man with a 20/51/0 build?

The idea being that with a Spellstone on, EC and NF with Glyph of Corruption for insta-bolts, coupled with DK, Demonic Aegis, Felguard+DE and Glyph of Felguard on top of the Meta bonuses and spamming Incinerate while Immo, MC and Curse of the Elements is up, popping SP trinkets every other moment and Glyph of Life Tap - should make for awesome DPS.
I can utterly melt multiple mobs grinding but that's no indication.

I can get equivalent numbers from 0/13/58 Destro and this build on Dummies but don't seem to burn the mana up as much. Any raiders willing to test this for me in a real raid environment? Or already have?

Basically is it worth following this build any further? Or should I just use it for shits and giggles and get the Imp out again while Blizzard works out how to fix the succy?

Here are my choices of combinations that don't make any sense:

a) Dranei Hunter - I never could understand it. The Dranei are from a foreign world, how can they understand the beasts of Azeroth well enough to tame them?

b) Blood Elf - Rogue. Addicted to magic, so it makes sense they don't become Warriors. Their magic addiction doesn't seem to prevent them from becoming Rogues. At least hunters use Mana.

c) Dwarf Rogues - Since we are on the Rogue subject, I always thought Dwarves, while shorter have too much girth to be effective rogues.
