Patch 2.4: New tailoring recipes opinion

Hey all,

Been a while since I've posted here. I've been watching the patch 2.4 news, and there are some pretty sweet new tailoring recipes:

ANyways, those gloves are sexy, and so is the robe. Lots of nice Stamina, lots of nice Intellect (especially considering the Lifetap change). But is it worth dropping my Frozen Shadoweave Robe (and thus the set bonus) over? As an Affliction Warlock, I'd lose 1 shadow spell damage but gain a whole lot of spell damage for my Immolates, as well as some crit rating for my Shadow Bolts.

But what about the FSR set bonus? That final bonus is pretty sexy, but so is 40 spell haste.

What do you think? Affliction Locks don't really need spell haste so I'll probably stick with FSR, but it's still interesting.

EDIT: Damn, just noticed these come from the 25-man raid, which I won't be attending :D Still, what do you guys think about these?

I am no expert on gear but. . .

As of 2.4 spell haste will affect the GCD, up to a point. So even an affliction warlock throwing insta-dots will benefit.

As an affliction Lock, I veiw Spell Haste gear as a positive because I still cast ShadowBolts, anything that speeds that up equals more DPS.

Re: Patch 2.4: New tailoring recipes opinion

As far as I know, those are patterns, much like the Belt and Boots of Blasting that drop in TK and require nether vortexes. Albeit, they will be BOE at 2.4, so anyone can make their Belts and Boots much faster, but 1 of those patterns remains BOP, so if you're not in the group, acquiring the pattern, you can't get it.

It may be possible that crafters who acquire the pattern will sell those gloves on the AH, but I can't imagine them going for less than 2k gold this early into 2.4.

The same could be said of the ROBE, since it appears to be BOE (robe itself is BOP, so normally the pattern is BOE), in the unlikely event no guild Top tier raiding guild needs that pattern it will be sold by the guild bank for gold, and could fetch over 2k as one of the best robes.

Unless I'm missing something...

Also the Sunmotes drop in the Sunwell Plateau, As far as I know, and are likely to be BOP, meaning the crafter needs the pattern and sufficient motes. So if they are selling this, its being sold for the guild bank, or after all previous casters have their piece.

I saw these and thought "sexy", but there's no way in heck a caster/tailorer is getting this without being there or without paying 2k gold+, not including mats.

The robe is better than anything before BT/MH, and probably better than that too. I have the Robe of Hateful Echoes (Hydross), best robe til Vashj's robe or t5 chest. Has base damage of 51, 3 yellow slots, 25 crit rating. That crafted robe is hotter. I don't think you'll see many around, especially when 2.4 drops.

Correct me if I'm wrong at any point, but I daresay blizzard is gonna release such hot loot, so easily, so readily available for casters, especially when 1 of them will be BOE, the other BOP, and 1 will require 6 sunmotes, akin to Nether Vortexes, or hearts of Darkness.

I was tired and got excited, thought there was finally some stuff I could just grind out with dailies. I love my FSRobe, but I wouldn't have minded a colour change.

Yeah.. the patterns for those drop in Sunwell. If you're not currently farming Illidan then don't get your hopes up on those patterns just yet.

Re: Patch 2.4: New tailoring recipes opinion

Well get the Spellstrike patterns, Battlecast patterns, and the respective Aldor/Scryer Epic thread. All can be made to sell. And the SS set is hot.

Also, you might be able to buy the BOE version of the Blasting Pieces, and farm for the other piece once you get there.

What they ought to do, especially since Magtheridon is now dropping a few 20 slot bags and a whole mess load of changes, is drop the CD on ALL cloth to a maximum of 24 hours, or so. Making 1-2 pieces/per 4 days is ridiculous.

The same goes for Primal Mooncloth. i'd have made the damn bags ages ago, except making them takes forever, and PMC goes for 40g/ piece on the AH, or 400g/bag. No thanks. As a Tailorer I wouldn't mind being able to make them faster and cheaper for myself. I've already made a suggestion that they drop the CD to faster than 4 days. I hope they consider it.

I understand why they initiated it to begin with, but now it's just an unfair ****block. At this point, its just a pain and a nuisance.

The robe "binds when picked up", so it looks to be a reputation gained tailoring pattern.

So, more rep grinding.

Re: Patch 2.4: New tailoring recipes opinion

So the robe is bind to the tailor making it and thus have to be someone raiding Sunwell and lucky to get the pattern, and the glove is sellable provided you pay thur your nose for the Sunmotes?

Re: Patch 2.4: New tailoring recipes opinion

atm it works just like blasting.

robe should be BOE pattern BOP crafted

gloves is BOP pattern and BOE crafted

either way if you ain't in sunwell, good luck farming gold for the pattern ( assuming a raiding guild would sell it )
