Engineering Epic Flying Mount Question

Hey guys, I'm hoping the engineers among you who have made the epic flying machine can answer this question:

When you use the regular flying machine control as part of the mats to make the epic one, does it have to be a brand new (unequipped) version or can it be one that's bound to you, since it's in your inventory?

I can't seem to get a satisfactory answer by asking in general / trade or searching the net.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Engineering Epic Flying Mount Question

I'm not an engineer but my roommate is and i'm pretty sure he just used the non-epic flying machine he'd been cruising around on to make his epic one.

Re: Engineering Epic Flying Mount Question

It can be the one that you've been using to fly around. Does not need to be a new, unequiped one. My hunter is 375 engy, and I 'upgraded' the regular flyer to the epic one once I had the necessary riding skill.

Awesome Creolay.

I suspected this was the case but heard things to the contrary from various people so didn't want to waste those mats if I was gonna upgrade a week or two later.

My curiosity has been sated. Thanks again, both of you!

Re: Engineering Epic Flying Mount Question

In fact, you can use your soulbound regular flying mount as a mat for the epic flying mount and the new epic mount is BoE.
