hi to all
earlier today i asked a enchanter to do +12 spell damage to ring, and he said he cant... (i am abit of noob btw) so i wanna know if its worth dropping 375 herb/mining for +12 spell damage to ring(x2)? cause i am slowly working on s3 gear. thanks in advance |

Its expensive and anoying to level enchanting when you are not getting quest rewards/drops as you level to DE.
I don't know what the price of mats are on your server but it would cost me about 1k at least to level it to 350 let alone 375. I am leveling it on my new lock only because I am deing all my drops and quest rewards I don't use. Hopeing enchanting gets a buf in the expansion or will drop for mining. IMO 24 spelldamage wont break or make anything damage wise - I am doing it since I am a tailor and will need lots of dust for it. |

Re: enchantment vs 375 herb/mining
I just went through the grind of leveling enchanting. I used to have tailoring/ herbs but dropped herbs for enchanting. I spent about 1000 gold and 2 days leveling it. I had a good amount of herbs stored so that was my cash supply. If you have the money and time I would go for it. On a framing day of herbs I would make about 1k gold in an hour or two, with enchanting I can now make double that selling rare enchants to people. The good thing is there are few enchanters in our guild so when those recipes drop its a good chance I will get them. The spell damage to rings was my draw to enchanting (every extra bit counts imho) but the access to all the chants anytime i change gear was also a nice addition.

Re: enchantment vs 375 herb/mining
IMO the boost to the rings is only really important when playing at the upper X% of the game; i.e. 2000+ arena and, or, cutting edge raid content. Extra stats are always nice for running Kara/dailies/casual play, but certainly not a 'must have' when factored against the overall cost.
Personally, I'm holding out for Inscription. Last edited by Maltyrius; April 07, 2008 at 09:55 AM. Reason: Proper use of an article |

Im on a low to med population server with only one guild even stepping into hyjal. All I have to do is sit and spam trade for the enchants i have access to and they sell like hotcakes. Most on my server will pay very good gold for enchants as they dont raid and dont know anyone with the high end chants. I usually provide mats as well so i do charge for those. For mongoose for example ill do 10+ a day at 75 to 100 gold each gives me 750-1000 for basically doing nothing. As our server grows im sure the enchanting wont be as profitable but thats why I took up herbs on an alt, thats where my real money rolls in fro anyways. The enchanting was just to get that little extra bit of damage I could. |

Bully for me for going high-population then. >.< then again, dunno if I'd want to be trying to get an arena team on a low-pop server.
Still, grats on cornering an entire market =D heh, mongooses go for 5g on my server because a billion people have it |
