Forgelords for warlock engineers (new version)
(last one closed.....dont see why really, as it technically fits in both pets and professions, and deemed it more aporpiate for general...oh well whatever >_>....)
Ok yeah lore wise Mo'arg are the same race as felguards, so i guess in some ways having a forgelord is an allready redundant suggestion. Anyway since tailoring/enhanting seem to be the professions of choice for warlocks, I was thinking what if enginering could have somthing to make it a more viable option. So what about a forgelord? There big and ugly (and personally i love these jolly mental killer fatmen), and there engineers. The idea is a demon which works in conjunction with your enginering. E.g its spell damage scales with your enginering skill, and having him out gives you a buff which gives all your enginering items a 10% extra sucess rate, and also you gain a +5 enginering skill buff. Abilties will be dependent on what you give him, like for example you can attach your cloaking device to him, giving him a phase like effect ala imp. Universal control gives him the ability to do a mind control on mechanical mobs etc. Also by giving him all the bombs you make, he gains the ability to use them. Now because he would be a very custom demon, his strength would be quite weak. He could also have non combat abilites which would serve your enginering: Fel forge -Forgelord summons a diabolical forge and anvil which remains for 5min (can only be used once an hour). Now of course this idea is as likely as pigs flying. But meh its nice to dream. What does everyone else think of this? Last edited by Schrodinger; April 07, 2008 at 08:13 PM. |

Re: Forgelords for warlock engineers (new version)
I follow your logic for posting in the general section. A moment's hesitation for wanting to do the right thing can lead to all sorts of misplacement. Don't worry about it for now. It's all to learn by. I did wonder which section it would have been best posted as it seems equally weighted towards pets and professions but as it turns out just picking one of those with a small disclaimer would have been best.
Anyway, in answer to your thoughts: Some nice ideas there. I'm an Engineer also. Quote:
I like the idea of it helping demons scale with other factors... a level of customisation that hunter pets get for example. I mean it would be nice to be able to get crafted plate demon patches for the felguard or leather ones for the succubus, maybe enchants on a felhunter... different ones that boost certain attributes. Who knows what warlocks might get for demons with Inscription? That said, in the name of balance things might get a little out of hand, but eventually all Locks will get the same stuff anyway... hmmm Demon talent trees instead of Grimoires? hahaha *go to bed Vaell* Crazy, but like you said, it's nice to dream! |

Re: Forgelords for warlock engineers (new version)
I like the idea although I find it difficult to imagine Blizzard would tie a Warlock demon to a specific profession. In essence, every Warlock would feel they had to be engineers. And, if the pet were not very weak as you suggest, raid guild recruiting of locks would be limited to engineer locks only.
A non-combat mini version might be a fun touch though. Last edited by Maltyrius; April 08, 2008 at 11:33 AM. |

Well if it was to be interegrated, I would suggest it being weaker then a VW.
With its only strengths in modding enginering items, and maybe a couple of hard hitting spells. So alchemy and tailoring are still valued higher for warlocks. Again as been said, it wont happen, but =) its nice to dream. |
