dropping tailoring for jc??
Just wondering if anyone has dropped tailoring for another profession once you reach T5/T6 content?
Right now with the new badge vendor and beginning Mt Hjyal and BT it seems that between raid drops and badge rewards that the tailored gear falls by the wayside. I've been thinking of dropping tailoring for JC for the new BoP gems and such, I'm an engineer also and I really dig the flying machine and my goggles but with the amount of dailys you can do now gold isn't as hard to come by as it once was. Anyhow, what do you guys think of the new BoP JC items (gems/necklaces/etc)? Is it worth picking up? I realize the xpansion could have kick-*** tailoring patterns however it seems Blizz is making the Badge gear on almost the same level of gear. |

Re: dropping tailoring for jc??
The best robe is still a tailoring drop as are a set of killer gloves (both sunwell trash drops) With wrath on the doorstep I'd hold onto tailoring never know when nets will come in handy either(see ZA learning timed run with Dhawk trash

Re: dropping tailoring for jc??
depends on how much you invested so far in tailoring. 300 skill is nothing. If you did 375 and wanted JC then I would reroll a mule.

Re: dropping tailoring for jc??
You can get BT-level gems from badges pretty soon, depending on how far along your server is with their sunwell dailies. If you're looking for a late-T6 dps profession you'll be wanting 350 leatherworking for drums of battle.

I would keep tailoring, even if you outgear the stuff you can craft. You can always sell and disenchant the items you make for good stuff, that is if you are enchanting too.
You also never know what will be added in future patches and the expansion. |

), but I find it hard to understand why anyone would drop a full 375 profession for a new profession that they can't really use any of the items. My understanding is that the Drums of Battle are very useful in end game content. But starting over a new profession for one item? No thanks. |

Re: dropping tailoring for jc??
It's the route that people take if they're in a guild working on twins in sunwell right now. Which is about .1% of the wow community. I'd say if you have a profession that is doing you no good, it might be worth it for the dps increase.
for 99.9% of the players out there, yeah. It's not worth it. For those raiders who are whittling and squeaking for 50 more dps it's possibly worth it. It's not like money is hard to get anymore, I blew 1100g for a pair of crafted bracers last night and I've made close to a third of it back via dailies already. |

Re: dropping tailoring for jc??
You guys are nuts, I would never drop enchanting or tailoring due to the cost involved in getting you to 375.
My kid plays an ALT character on the same account, I was thinking about giving her some gold to raise up JC and Alchemy. Even though we have several shadoweave tailors in my guild I would never think about droppnig this prof, 360skill and I've already spent a fortune on mats. This is why you create ALTs. |

Re: dropping tailoring for jc??
ya but who wants to level a 2nd toon to 70 just to have 375 whatever skill
At least for ME, I have too much fun on my lock to invest the time into another toon. While I would love to have a 70 BE pally tank there's just not enough time in the day. 4x a week raiding then heroics on off-days or farming Kara/Gruuls/ZA/Mags. I'm still undecided on what to do on tailoring and yes I'm 375. The cost of patterns are what so expensive with it. And from what inscription looks to be, seems like just a supped up Enchanting and I despised being an enchanter (was 365 when I dropped it for Engineering which was the best move I made). I appreciate everyone's input and opinions thus far. |
