Question Thoughts of profession change.

I'm switching servers to join a friend and making another lock. My old lock was tailoring and enchanting, I'm wondering about doing TAILORING and SKINNING on this new lock. Never had a toon high enough to raid yet so know nothing about high end stuff.

Just want to be able to mostly solo and group with friends, make enough coin to gear myself very nicely. Maybe some raiding when higher levels come around.

What do you guys think about those two professions for making coin and dressing myself.

Re: Thoughts of profession change.

I think if I had it to do over, at this point, I would definitely pursue tailoring. I'm not as fond of enchanting. It is a HUUUGE money sink until you reach at least level 350. I'd have an epic mount right now if I hadn't sank all my gold into enchanting skillups. It's nice now, but I have guildmates who could've done the enchants for me, and left me free to make gold with another profession. I wish...really wish, that I'd have leveled to 375 tailoring, and one of my alts is definitely going to do exactly that very soon.

Mining is probably the best gathering money maker - it provides mats for engineering, smithing and jewelcrafting. I'm keeping mining/tailoring until Wrath when I'll drop mining for Inscription.

Re: Thoughts of profession change.

Mining makes the most money IMO, however I do think that Enchanting is not so bad, if only because of DE. You'll get tons of money just DE'ing quest rewards and selling the mats and you only need 300 skill to DE everything, unless I'm very much mistaken. Leveling to 300 is not that expensive.

EDIT to rebuke Aquinox: I double-checked and can confirm, you only need 300 to DE level 70 epics.

Tailoring rocks, if only because of FSW.
