Need to drop one profession

Hi fellow warlocks,
I will be soon joining a new guild that now sits in SWP.
My CL asked me to drop one of my professions in favor of LW for the drumming stuff ;p
I currently have tailoring and enchanting lvled up to 375.
got all of the high-end bop tailor stuff made apart of the sunfire robe
Which profession to drop I ask you

I would drop enchanting, as Tailoring will probably have some godly goodness come Wrath of the Lich King. Tough call though.

If i was to drop anything it would be Enchanting. You can live without enchanting, but as a warlock its harder to live without Tailoring.

Re: Need to drop one profession

I find I couldn't live without enchanting as I always am disenchanting blues and greens and selling enchants. I have no bop tailoring patterns but shadowweave, so it is alright.

Should I drop enchanting and pick up mining or skinning or herbilism?

Don't hijack my thread ;o

And back to the topic, I won't really use anything from tailoring from now on. Got everything crafted already ;p

Re: Need to drop one profession

from the pain of leveling both tailoring and enchanting to 375 on my main, I would not drop them at all.

You have such a wide range of patterns and enchants to drop all for ONE item? That is profoundly short sighted.

Re: Need to drop one profession

It's actually not that difficult a question. If you're going to do high end raiding, and willing to drop a profession (and level another one), then drop tailoring. Why?
  • At higher levels you'll get enough good gear from raiddrops to make up for a lack of tailoring. Either that, or ask your guild to help you get BoE crafted gear like belt of blasting. If they want you to drop a maxed profession, they should also be willing to help in other ways.
  • Enchanting stuff (and disenchanting) will save/get you a lot more cash than tailoring will
  • Small bonus: You get to enchant your rings, which cannot be done in any other way. Spellthread on the other hand can be bought
The argument that Wrath of the Lich King will bring nice stuff goes for both professions probably, but even then it's speculation.

Re: Need to drop one profession

Since you feel you're already past tailoring's biggest usefulness, drop it. Lich King's gonna be a reset either way, and a whole new set of time/money sinks.

Lia, I wouldn't drop enchanting for a gathering, but it depends how much money DEing gets you. Find out how much that is for a given week. If it doesn't feel satisfying, get mining, if anything. Mining feeds three professions, the others don't.
