Boots of Blasting Pattern

I'm a very happy warlock because I managed to pick up the pattern for these on AH yesterday for a mere 300G! Then another lock in my guild decided to see if anyone else was selling the pattern in trade channel but only received a load of whispers saying that the pattern is BoP, which, it clearly isn't. I thought it was common knowledge that for a BoP item, the pattern is BoE and vice versa. Is this something new in 2.4.3 or are all these whisperers gravely misinformed?

Same, I grabbed it at 1400g when it appeared on our AH this week and I had been searching every day for a month and had just checked AH 15 min earlier that morning and they were not up yet

The pattern doesn't drop as often as some of the other boot patterns.

And it is a great investment even if you only make it for yourself because the only other way non-T5/T6-raiding to get boots close to as good is to spend 75 or so badges of justice on the boots of incantation.

And frankly at T4 level, gold is a lot easier to get over a week of dailies than 75 badges over the same time.

PS I got the same whispers saying the pattern is BoP when I would ask in Trade whether anyone was selling. LOL

The whispers you got came from the usual crowd that talks about everything and, usually, knows few about the game BUT has an opinion about everything and makes their moral obligation to whisper others calling them noobs for not knowing it. Usually the youngsters are a large part of this community and fill the loud (shouting, trade channel spammers, etc) portion of it.

Triggered by this post, I now search the AH too. How stupid to forget the pattern is BoE. However, prices are at 1800/2500 BO

The pattern is BoE. Anyone can pick it up, it can be bought/sold on the AH. The boots they craft are BoP, meaning they are soulbound as soon as you craft them. They cannot be crafted for others.

And I was lucky. Caught someone cleaning out their guild bank and picked it up for 300g.

If it were possible, it wouldn't be much gold at all, as the materials are really simple. If the Boots were made as BoE then there would be more materials meaning more expense.

How often do you see this patterns for Boot of Blasting come up in AH? i used to constantly get new gear and other great items from the AH.

However lately its been such a long time since I have bought anything out of the auction house that wasn't either pots, food, gems, or mats. AH also sell the same old boring Enchanting recipies which are not very useful to level 70's I have bought most of my better enchanting recipies from the quartermaster for revered rep.

Not often, sometimes every couple of weeks, sometimes not for a month or more. But enough that I can usually wait depending on the item.

My server is heavily populated, but mostly on Horde side, so our AH represents a smaller alliance population and probably is more average-ish.
