Re: Best proffs for leveling warlock?
Good question. I always hear Tailoring and Enchanting are always a good way to go, but it seems chant isn't gonna be good enough to make any money until around 300+. I, myself, am still debating whether to go full-fledged Tailor yet. I have all my cloth ready to powerlevel to Max Tailoring, but it seems my 200+ Mining is, and will be, making me more money at the moment. I also feel very frustrated because I'm stuck at 200 chanting. It seems the cost to Max it out is around 2000 Gold (ugh). I know some Tailoring Recipes needed to powerlevel Tailoring can get you a lot of the mats needed for your chanting, but not all of them and they are so dam expensive. It's taken me long enough to aquire 700g and all my cloth and Shadoweave Set that I wear. I'm scared to let go of mining for Tailoring as mining is my only moneymaker atm. This is my first character in WoW (with 5 alts holding my cloth and whatnots) and so I'm not funded like someone with one or more 70's might be.
Anyway, when you find out the best answer here - let me know! Last edited by N00bKing; July 21, 2008 at 12:26 PM. Reason: fix sp. |

Re: Best proffs for leveling warlock?
My general rule of thumb has always been 1 gold-maker + 1 utility. For locks, the best is usually tailoring + mining/skinning/herbalism. I'd check the AH and see what is profitable. If you have 1000s of gold from an alt, Engineering+Tailoring would be great for the BoPs.

Re: Best proffs for leveling warlock?
I found herbalism and alchemy to be an awesome combo for leveling. The buffs you get from elixirs and the reduced downtime by using pots more often are very nice. Also, you can make a bit of gold on the side with these profs particularly by selling herbs. Tailoring/Enchanting is sort of standard for clothies. I would say that they are completely unneccessary for success but make hitting 70 a little less difficult to gear up for raiding if that's your interest. I never had either profession and don't regret that choice.

Re: Best proffs for leveling warlock?
Tailoring. Starting in your low-mid 40s you can make a great set that will give you 100-140 shadow damage. Thats pretty significant, and some of those pieces lasted me until my mid 50s.
Then there is the frozen shadoweave set. Once you hit 70, you will want this. The Spellstrike set is BoE, so you can have that made, but its much cheaper to make the cloth yourself. Enchanting is nothing but a money sink until Outland. The buffs you get from it hardly compare to the tailoring sets. Go for a money making profession for the 2nd. Depends on the market on your server, but I've always used mining for leveling. Nothing compares to it for making money. |

Re: Best proffs for leveling warlock?
No matter the class, the best profs for leveling are mining/herbing and skinning. Sell everything.
For warlocks, having tailoring and enchanting is nice. The FSW set, Boots of Blasting, and several others are great to have items. Being able to Enchant your rings with Spell Damage is great too. However, once your 70, and can make money easily, you can power level these professions very quickly. |

Re: Best proffs for leveling warlock?
go enchanting gathering or a while but collect all the cloth (store it on a level 1 alt) and then at 70 take tailoring and power level it with all that cloth you gathered. It's easy enough to find a tailorerer for the mid range stuff if you farm the mats

Re: Best proffs for leveling warlock?
easy, but it depends on how serious you are with the game:
1) WoW is my life and I will raid endgame content = enchanting/tailoring (this options gives you acccess to the best gear and personal enchants to maximize dps) 2) I love raiding but like to do other things and doubt I will ever get endgame gear = alchemy/herbalism (make money, have fun doing other things in your spare time than sitting in org) |
