Will someone please help me decide?
I'd like to know if it would be worth it to switch from tailoring/enchanting to mining/engineering?
As much as tailoring helps out in pve, I'm more of a pvp kind of player, and I know that engineering is really fun and can help in pvp sometimes Mining will be great too because of the money i will be able to make through it and the nice gems and mats that will be obtained through it I only have enchanting to disenchant things and make some money, but it's not very fun, and I'm stuck at 290 due to high prices of illusion dust and other pre bc mats, and I don't have time to farm them from those instances ![]() Tailoring's alright, but if I'm pvp, it won't really help out a lot, and I won't make a lot of money from it I'm willing to take the time needed to level mining/engineering, but I need to know if it would be worth it in the long run... I don't know what to do , will someone please help me decide??Replies will be appreciated ![]() |

Re: Will someone please help me decide?
Leveling enchanting is too expensive so you want to switch to eng......
If you want to switch just to do something you find more fun then do it. But if you plan on spending a ton of gold lvling eng to help in PvP i think you might end up disappointed. |

Re: Will someone please help me decide?
One more option you should consider:
Keep Enchanting, drop Tailoring for Engineering. Reason: Keeping Enchanting to disenchant things will give you a lot of money on the long run, and especially in Wrath of the Lich King it will be very usefull to have a (Dis-)Enchanter, even if not with maxed skill. Engineering on the other hand is very easy and cheap to level up, you do not need mining for it. Once you have the Mote-Extractor you can make more money with it than you can with mining anyways, so there is no reason to have a gathering profession. Me for example, all my 3 highlvl Characters have Engineering plus another real profession (Enchanting, Alchemy, Blacksmithing), i dont need any gathering profession as Engineering already gives a lot of money. So thats maybe something for you to consider ![]() |

Re: Will someone please help me decide?
Keep in mind that Rocket Boots (one of the big reasons people level engineering for PvP) are now unusable in arenas. Engineering still has some fun toys for BGs, but being unable to use basically everything it can make in arenas saps a lot of the use out of the profession.

The mote extractor is the coolest thing I have seen so far as an engineer. Can't wait until I get some of the other stuff too.

Re: Will someone please help me decide?
The two biggest reasons to take up engineering have to be the Mote Extractor and The Goggles. Other than those I don't use it at the moment and could see myself dropping it for a gathering profession come Wrath of the Lich King unless there are some AWESOME recipes revealed.
I would definately say if you're not sure go double gatherer so that when you do make your mind up you have loads of cash to spare for powerlevelling ![]() |
