Question Tailoring specialistation

Quick question, may sound silly.
I have frozen shadow gear, which I specialised in tailoring to make, A friend says that if I abandon tailoring now, then will not be able to use the BoP gear that I made with tailoring, or that gear will "dissappear".

Sounds far fetched to me, but not the sort of thing I want to find out the hard way!

Can anyone tell me if there is any truth in this?

Re: Tailoring specialistation

If you aren't shadow-specced tailor you cannot use the gear. if I recall correctly its durability dropped to zero but you could have them in slots and you couldn't repair them. So basically they became just as good as empty slots.

Re: Tailoring specialistation

They don't lose dura or get deleted, you just can't equip them anymore. Don't drop tailoring if you still need your FSW items.

Re: Tailoring specialistation

Quite easy to tell what an item needs to be able to use it.

If you look at your items Frozen Shadoweave Robe for instance you'll notice is says right on it "Requires Shadoweave Tailoring" take note of where it says that. When it's listed there it mean it's required to be able to equip an item. Even if you just changed your tailoring spec you would not be able to use those items. Forgetting tailoring is right out.

If you look at Spellstrike Hood however it says under the heading for the set bonus "Requires Tailoring (350)" meaning anyone can equip the item (anyone that can use cloth obviously) but you will not get the set bonus if you don't have 350 tailoring.
