About Enchanting Rings
Now I know this is going to sound silly but I just need an answer. If you level your enchanting to get Enchant Ring - Spellpower and apply it to your rings and drop enchanting, would the enchants still work and be on the rings?

Re: About Enchanting Rings
Yes, you do not need enchanting to keep the ring enchants. You can easily just level enchanting to 360, enchant rings and drop it again for something else (LW?)

Re: About Enchanting Rings
Well that is interesting. I always assumed that if you dropped enchanting that the ring enchants would either drop off or you just would not get credit for them.

Re: About Enchanting Rings
Also if you keep the enchanting rod then releveling it is quite cheap and can be done quite a bit lower than 1k, especially if you save some greens for the mats.

Re: About Enchanting Rings
Enchanting is seriously eating a hole in my pocket! I too want the ring enchant but I'm thinking of dropping enchanting after this enchant. I was curious too if I dropped enchanting if my rings would still be enchanted. Thank you for the advice! I will continue leveling enchanting

Re: About Enchanting Rings
Enchanting needs some serious changes in Wrath. It's so difficult to make any gold with it and the only benefit is +24 spell damage :/
Compare with alchemists who get a nice trinket and pots/elixirs that are sweet money-makers. At least with other crafting professions liek Tailoring and Engineering you get a reward for the time and money spent levelling them with access to very good BoP gear. Maybe enchanters could be given the option of self-only secondary enchants to some gear slots. Or perhaps the ability to craft staves. That would fit nicely with the enchanters role in the game. |

level 51-55 green armor on the AH for 6g or less - buy and DE. Sell Illusion dust for 4 ~ 4.5g ea. level 51-55 green weapons on AH for 16g or less - buy and DE. Sell Greater Eternal Essence for 18 ~ 24g. Sharp Cookie at Halaa Blade vendor - buy for 2g and some change and DE into 1 ~ 2 Greater Planar Essence. Sell for 4 ~ 20g (depending upon supply/demand) Void Crystal on AH for 35 ~ 42g - buy and shatter. Sell Large Prismatic Shards for 21 ~ 30g. (Prices vary per server, but you get the idea, right? Enchantrix, Price Per, and Auctioneer are your friends) Back on-topic, I wouldn't level Enchanting just for the ring enchants. Keep it as a money-maker, and wait for the goodies to come out in Wrath. |

Re: About Enchanting Rings
Here's a silly question. If you take enchanting, enchant your ring and drop enchanting, what happens when you get an upgrade? You'd have to re-level enchanting to enchant the new one. Why even bother with enchanting if your just going to enchant the rings and drop it? Just live without, it's only 24 Spell Dam. Not exactly game breaking, though personally, I have it, and am keeping it.

There is such an abundance of greens in Outlands. If I bother to do dailies (which is rare right now) I get a ton, both as mob drops and from the rewards. DE that stuff, sell it and be happy. I personally horde most of the dust because I am a pack rat, but when I do sell some it is a decent source of cash. This doesn't even take into account the random 10-20g tips I get for doing enchants - and I don't even have anything all that rare. (Don't get me started on the drop rates of Kara enchants....) Either way, I wouldn't drop enchanting if you have managed to bridge the hideous 260-300 gap. Besides, if you enchant your rings and then drop it...what will you do next time you upgrade your ring? |

Re: About Enchanting Rings
Enchanting makes you stupid amounts of money. I was the server first to get soulfrost and mongoose on horde side :P It funded 4 epic mounts. Get the high end skills early in wrath and you will have a great opportunity to make tons of cash.
