What to choose for my second profession?

Well I only have one current profession and one unused one. I have no idea what to have the other one be. My current prof is skinning (and i must say i like the money ) and so my guess is either enchanting or tailoring, the thing with tailoring though, is its worth. I would haeve to power level it to 375, I hear the items are good though, but arn't they replaced at kara? Then with enchanting, how much money does it make? Thanks

pick up tailoring imo. you can actually use the items you make, and it's fairly easy to level due to just about everything dropping cloth.

I would go and grind wool though, since AH prices on my server at least are outrageous

Tailoring does have many items that get replaced as you go up through dungeons, but you also pick up new tailored items, such as the Belt of Blasting, which are fantastic. Some tailored items can only be worn by the tailor as they are bind on pickup. So even though you'll loose some as you advance in raids, you gain others that are fantastic, and some of those are tailor only.

yeah, Tailoring is great if your just starting at 70 as the gear is considered better than T4 gear. So you'll skip over the oblivian set and the T4 gear and basically be set for Tier 5 stuff. Ahead of your time.

Aw thanks! (I hated the tier 4 gear looks) Ok and one last question, say if i buy cloth and grind some, i know it varies depending on server but how much time and money will this cost about?

re: What to choose for my second profession?

I have no idea how accurate this is because I didn't pay any attention to the total amount of money I spent leveling Tailoring, but there's a site that attempts to calculate the total cost you'd spend if you just purchased everything that you may need to skill up.

Lootables: World of Warcraft Crafting and Profession Guides: Tailoring

Keep in mind, though, that prices will vary by server so what the author of that list assumed as the price might not be accurate for you. (And you might choose different items to make to level up.)

But cloth tends to drop fairly fast so I would suggest farming much of it -- especially the netherweave cloth, since you can farm that at the same time as farming for something else, such as items that increase your rep with the Scryers. (If you're not Scryer, pick another faction where you can get cloth & rep drops and farm for that. )

Edit: At revered the scryers also have a trinket -- the Scryer's Bloodgem -- that gives you a lot of hit rating, which is another great item to get when gearing up for kara! So farming for scryers and cloth can even be helping you get gear for kara beyond just the items you'll get from tailoring.

Tailoring will get you a magic carpet at 450. Something to think about.
