Re: I must of been the only herbalist on today
Strangely not. I've never found Mana Thistle to be a good seller on the auction house and have even found myself vendoring it to get rid of it. I believe that it gets used in some fairly popular potions/elixirs so perhaps my prices were just too high. I always pick it though on the off-chance of getting Nether Residue.

Re: I must of been the only herbalist on today
On my server they used to go for a lot since they were harder to find, but since the 2.4 patch the price has gone way down since they're actually somewhat farmable now on the Isle.
So you might not make a lot, but at the same time -- it doesn't sound like you had to work very hard to farm that many and thus you still might make a decent amount given the time/effort you put into getting them. ![]() They're used to make flasks, primarily: 3 per flask. At least that's the only thing I ever use them for, but even just with that they're extremely useful to have around! |

Re: I must of been the only herbalist on today
The main flask i used Mana Thistle for is flask of pure death. I was using around 2 flasks per raid & at 4 raiding nights a week thats a few hehe.
Since 2.4 the drop rate on fel lotus, which went for 30+ gold on barthLAGus (local name for barthilus server), has been "significantly" increased & I stopped raiding I have 10 flasks sitting in my bank & 2 stacks of fel lotus in my mages (potion vendor) bank. |

Re: I must of been the only herbalist on today
I find that the best-selling easy herb to gather is nightmare vine. My druid is my gatherer, and he's building gold toward his epic flightform basically through nigtmare vine. With an addon like Cartographer or Gatherer, you can plan flights around SMV to harvest the vine. I get about 20 vines in 30-60 minutes, depending on competition for spawns (when it's bad, I just do other stuff). And nightmare vine sells for 2-8g PER, on steamwheedle cartel. For whatever reason, the demand way outstrips supply, and there are times when I go to put up my vines and there's no other vines on the market, so I put them up for 8 apiece (160 a stack), and they sell. Crazy.

Re: I must of been the only herbalist on today
Nightmare vine is used in a lot of raiding pots/elixirs/flasks as well as superior wizard oil. If your server has an active raiding community these will sell very well. I sell stacks of 10 for 35g ea by posting them on the AH around 4-5pm. All the raiders scour the AH for consumables and mats an hour or two before their raid starts. These and elixir of major agility paid for two of my epic flyers, one of which was us a rolfcopter.
Since IQD came about mana thistle is cheap on Sen'jin since all the herbers doing dailies there keep a constant supply on the AH. |
