Changes to inscription that would make our lives better
After looking over the inscription profession and reading the warlock glyphs, I think some should be *tweaked* just a bit to really improve our lock-y way of life or make us seem more well rounded. Here's the list of gyphs we currently have and what I personally think should be changed: MAJOR GLYPHS Glyph of Corruption - Gives your corruption spell the Nightfall effect w/o speccing into it. THAT'S A KEEPER ![]() Glyph of Healthstone - Receive 30% more healing from healthstones. Considering they're changing healthstones, seems that number should be increased to 50%. Would definitely make it a worthwhile glyph to get then. Glyph of Health Funnel - Reduces interruption while channeling Health Funnel by 100%. This honestly seems a bit OP to me. Our other pushback reducing abilities (Intensity and Fel Concentration) cap at 70%. Make this match at 70% but either increase the damage mitigation pets receive while under the effect by an additional 5% or increase their attack / cast speed by 3%. Glyph of Fear - Increases damage the Fear target can take before Fear is removed by 20%. .....? Seems like a miniscule improvement for a major glyph. If you've feared a target, you're either: a) affliction and have DoT's ticking away anyway while he's feared / nightmared; or b) not affliction and/or just feared it to get it away from you. Why not just have this either match the Improved Fear talent or increase the duration of fear by 5 secs? Glyph of Shadow Bolt - Reduces the mana cost of Shadow Bolt by 10%. Mana cost? Bleh. Increase the damage done by Shadow Bolt by 5%. Gives us a little bit back after the recent nerf to ISB. Glyph of Voidwalker - Increases your voidwalker's stamina by 20%. Another lackluster glyph. Voidwalkers already have pretty good stamina, all things considered. Change this back to increased threat generation and he'll be happier (well, WE will be anyway...) Glyph of Searing Pain - Increase critical strike bonus of Searing Pain by 20%. No change. Good glyph that actually makes Searing Pain ALMOST viable ![]() Glyph of Soulstone - Increases the health you receive when resurrecting using your Soulstone by 300%. Hmmm, not bad, but would rather see a reduced cooldown on soulstone by 5-10 mins. Glyph of Shadowburn - Increases the critical strike chance of Shadowburn by 20% when the target is below 35% health. Meh. Three words: NO REAGENT COST. Give locks an easier way to farm for shards! Glyph of Succubus - Increases the duration of Seduction by 3 secs. OP if you specced for Improved Succubus, lackluster if you haven't. Would rather see her get either : increased dodge chance by 10% (give her some survivability); or increased damage done by Lash of Pain by 5%. Glyph of Banish - Increases the duration of your Banish by 5 secs. Seems fine to me. Glyph of Felhunter - Increase the critical strike chance of your Felhunter's Shadowbite by 6%. Actually seems OP considering Shadowbite increases in damage based on the number of DoT's you have up on the target. Why not improve the effect of his fel intelligence by 5%? If you're running with him out, it's going to be up anyways.... Glyph of Siphon Life - Increases the effect of Siphon Life by 20%. This coupled with Haunt and it's 200% health return SEEMS OP to anyone not playing a warlock. But considering some of our defining spells are lifetap, hellfire and health funnel, it's A-OK in my book. Glyph of Howl of Terror - Reduces the cooldown on Howl of Terror by 8 secs. 8 secs? I'd say make it 10 secs, but that's just because 8 seems like an arbitrary number, 2 secs is honestly not gonna make or break this. Glyph of Conflagrate - Reduces the mana cost of Conflagrate by 20%. Keeper. Glyph of Felguard - Increases your Felguard's attack power by 10%. Makes him more viable for raiding, although wouldn't increased critical strike chance make more sense for Demonic Pact purposes? On the fence on this one... Glyph of Curse of Agony - Increases the duration of your Curse of Agony by 4 secs. ....? 4? What is with the arbitrary numbers? It increases its time up, so I won't complain about this one. Glyph of Immolate - Increases the periodic damage of your Immolate by 20%, but decreases its initial damage by 10%. This seems almost like it should be a talent in the (bloated) affliction tree. Would rather see reduce cast time of your Immolate by .5 sec. Glyph of Unstable Affliction - Reduces the cast time of your Unstable Affliction by 0.2 sec. -_- Why not reduce the cast time by (22/7)/6? *sigh* Reduce cast time by .5 sec or increase damage done by dispel by 10%. Glyph of Death Coil - Increase duration of your Death Coil by .5 sec. Works. MINOR GLYPHS (Minor) Glyph of Drain Soul - Your Drain Soul spell occasionally generates an additional soul shard. Occasionally?? Pfft, if blizzard would just let soul shards STACK, this glyph could be deleted for all most of us care. (Minor) Glyph of Unending Breath - Increases the swim speed of targets affected by your Unending Breath by 20%. Useful. (Minor) Glyph of Kilrogg - Increases the movement speed of your Eye of Kilrogg by 50% and allows it to fly where flying mounts are allowed. This seems like overkill for a spell that most locks barely touch except for fun and giggles (outside of sunwell that is). Forget the movement speed, forget the flying, just make it invisible. (Minor) Glyph of Curse of Exhaustion - Increases the range of you CoEx by 5 yards. Has applications in and out of pvp, merits having one just in case. (Minor) Glyph of Enslave Demon - Reduces the cast time of your Enslave Demon spell by 50%. Sure, why not. Useful if you decide to use Inferno, Ritual of Doom, or had a killing blow with CoD. (Minor) Glyph of Souls - Your Ritual of Souls no longer requires a Soul Shard. THANK YOU. Almost merits being a major glyph. ALMOST ![]() So that's it, in a nutshell. There's probably going to be some more fine tuning to some of our glyphs as patch 3.0 nears. Let's hear what you guys have to say, what are some changes you'd like to see to these things?

Glyph of Corruption; If it doesnt stack with Nightfall this is a very valuable Glyph for 'locks! Would probably take it. Glyph of Healthstone; PvP I guess, don't think I would take this to a Raid. Glyph of Health Funnel; We have raidhealers for that ;p Glyph of Fear; Move PvP, wouldn't take this one eighter. Glyph of Shadow Bolt; Would take this to most Raids if specced Affliction. Glyph of Voidwalker; Nice for leveling up I'd say, with the new increased sick-o agro of the Voidy. Glyph of Searing Pain; Ace for Warlock tanking by the looks of it! Glyph of Soulstone; If this is only for moi personally, no thanks. Else its still not worth it, less Cooldown please. Glyph of Shadowburn; PvP, no thanks. Glyph of Succubus; I'd rather see her Lash of Pain damage increased by 10%, might make her viable for Demo Raiding. Glyph of Banish; Wouldn't take this as a Major Glyph, it's not like banish that hard to keep up, replace this with something that gives your Soul Shatter a reduced CD, or a reduced CD on Fel Domination. Glyph of Felhunter; I'd rather see the 20% increased Spellpower back, but would take this for PvE together with Shadowbolt and Corruption. Glyph of Siphon Life; More PvP, maybe solo-grinding. Glyph of Howl of Terror; PvP. Glyph of Conflagrate; Maybe nice for Backdraft Destro builds. Glyph of Felguard; Nice if you raid with a Felguard, else.. Meh. Glyph of Curse of Agony; Really nice if you take a Moonkin or Unholy DK to your raid = More DPS for you. Might take this over Shadowbolt. Glyph of Immolate; Affliction with even more DoTs up? Not sure if this would Increase or Decrease DPS, but my bet is on the latter, prefer an increase in ticks to fit into a rotation better. Glyph of Unstable Affliction; Not worth taking in any way, give us a damage increase. Glyph of Death Coil; PvP. MINOR GLYPHS (Minor) Glyph of Drain Soul; Dunno, if its true that Drain Soul does 4x damage when a target is below or at 20% health, this spell will spam locks with unwanted Shards ( Or well, Affliction ones ). (Minor) Glyph of Unending Breath; Sounds usefull for leveling. (Minor) Glyph of Kilrogg; Would take this for giggles only <3. (Minor) Glyph of Curse of Exhaustion; Nah, thanks but not worth it in my book. (Minor) Glyph of Enslave Demon; Would take this if the Infernal became usefull. (Minor) Glyph of Souls; YES GIEV MOI! |

Glyphs will be sold on the auction house. Or get the mats and have an Inscriptor craft it for you. |
