Re: frostweave cloth farming spots

If you're going as a raiding felguard spec as I currently have which works wonders for both my dps and raids dps as I buff the raid about 99% of the time for about 200 or more spell power, a good place I found while leveling is the venture co place in sholazar where the ogre and goblin you need to kill for that one quest are. I grinded out probably about 8 bars or more of exp there and in doing so I had to have farmed maybe 20 stacks of cloth in about 3 hours or less. They die pretty easily if you have a good amount of damage and crit.

yeah i tried that spot but the mobs dont respawn fast enough. i go as affliction, and just dot non stop until the entire area is dead. i like the speed of affliction for any kind of grinding. plus then i dont have to respec from my raiding build.

yeah another lock in our guild has 2k spell power self buffed with demo spec, but he doesn't usually go that far down demo since elemental shammy totem overrides the demo buff.

I can't really speak for places, per say, but if you have a tailor then I'd try farming with them as they get extra cloth from humanoids. Just my 2 cents.

I've noticed that any vrykul heavy area in howling fjord or grizzly hills tends to net decent amounts of frostweave with minimal work. And yes, a +375 tailor is good because of their innate talent to farm more cloth per drop. I've personally looted OTHER people's kills for cloth

I am also looking for a decent spot to farm for this crap. Its crazy that it takes upwards of 5000 cloth to level from 400 to 450.

Re: frostweave cloth farming spots

Ummm elemental shammy totem does not override it. Other way around. The higher of the 2 takes. 200 spell damage buff exceeds the shammy one by far to my knowledge and the warlock one scales with gear unlike the shammy one. Besides the point though.

Affliction is no longer THE farming spec because it can't take out 1 mob as fast as and DD spec. If you run through and destroy mobs quickly as a felguard spec you not only boost the repop rate due to the fact that you're quickly killing mobs 1 at a time, but you also have little to no down time which used to be the reason that affl was so popular. When you kill large groups with DoTs you end up having to wait for repops because they all died in a similar time frame. There are probably about 50 or more mobs all around that camp and I highly doubt anyone could kill them all with no repops. You just move in a circle around the place there.

You are thinking of flametongue totem which all shaman get. Totem of Wrath (the elemental only one) is much higher than flametongue and requires over 2800 spell damage to beat out ;)

That being said, I find lots of mobs in the starting areas. It seems like their repop rates are higher than other places.

Re: frostweave cloth farming spots

For the last couple of nights I've been using the catacombs area under utgarde keep, and the dig site in howling fjord that's full of blue dwarves. Both areas have large quantities of mobs (especially the dwarves) and fast respawns. They drop respectable amounts of cloth, but nothing that blows my mind. I havn't explored very far past the starting zones yet and I'm still searching for better places. I'll be sure to try the venture co. spot.
