Why does tailoring suck so bad?

I just recently returned for lichking.I have herbalism and tailoring, and as I checking what tailoring has I notice... tailoring sucks. Mind you I'm in a guild farming all 25 man heroics atm so really don't think tailoring is worth the effort. I have crap tons of bc patterns (not relevant but still) I'm wondering why did blizzard fail on the Tailoring for Wrath of the Lich King when it was the absolute best for bc. ... sigh so much for linking my sunfire patternz lawl

Someone just got realm first tailoring on my server like last week. Shows how enthused we all are about levelling it

Re: Why does tailoring blow so hard?

Since I'm not raiding, I'm wearing 4 pieces of duskweave (the three black duskweave plus the shoulders) and find them pretty good for my questing. The bags are nice and I imagine I'll move into some of the more exotic cloth as the cooldowns allow. It's also excellent for disenchanting to get me my enchanting ingredients.

Re: Why does tailoring blow so hard?

Taloring stuff is great for entry level raiding, leg enchants and back enchants are really nice too. Cant find anything to replace tailoring with and wanna deffinately wait to see what patterns ulduar will bring us.

Leg enchants can be aquired from other tailorers, the back enchant assuming you mean the lightweave embroidery...it stinks, 23 haste on back is better once you have a few epics from naxx. Pretty sad and i hoppe we get better stuff for tailoring in the future, atleast somethiung we can make some money from like the jewelcrafters and miners are making tons of cash from all the blue gems.

Re: Why does tailoring blow so hard?

haste is debatable, have gotten better dps gains from the embroidery

Give Blizzard some time to work out the kinks and I'm sure they'll implement some great patterns for some of the new dungeons coming out. Tailoring has never been the profession for crafting the best gear (heck, it's debatabl whether anything you get from crafting gear is better than pvp/raid items) but it provides the oh so vauluable bags as well as gear for the in-betweeners.

May I state that this item Sunfire Handwraps - Item - World of Warcraft was thé best item for warlocks and mages at the end of The Burning Crusade? The pattern Pattern: Sunfire Robe - Item - World of Warcraft dropped in the Sunwell Plateau.
Other examples of gear that wasn't replaced untill the more difficult content are (or were in The Burning Crusade), the Spellstrike Hood and Pants, the Belt of Blasting, and the farm of warlocks and frost mages alike : the Frozen Shadoweave set.
Now in Wrath of the Lich King, tailoring is a bit of a bummer, but I'm fairly sure Blizzard is cooking something up for us tailorers...

Just saying that tailoring wasn't a lousy profession in The Burning Crusade.

Greetings,
Bedeone

Re: Why does tailoring blow so hard?

They're trying to find the middle ground right now. As stated in BC you had gear that could be crafted an nothing else would ever replace it. It was the best and it was BoP and they didn't want to do that anymore. They didn't want you to feel like you had to take a profession just to get the best items for your class cuz they were BoP. So now we have the situation we are in.
