Re: What to use as 2nd Profession?
I would personally not have a gathering proffesion to gain money as you can earn alot from dailies as it is, I personally have Tailoring (shadoweave) for the cloak and pant enchants and the decent preraid gear you can make, and Inscription although after I had made the glyphs needed and it started to die out i only kept it for the epic shoulder enchants, they happen to be even better than the sons enchants. i would recommend in all: Enchanting - to improve gear which is needed for raids alchemy- to create potions and elixirs jewelcrafting- again to improve your gear(complements mining which you have) inscription - for shoulder enchants tailoring - to keepe you decently geared as you level and for the cloak and pant enchants |

i like jewelcrafting, enchanting, and blacksmithing.... even tho im tailoring and herb.... the first 3 seem to give the best "buffs" gems etc wise to your character.. i guess you could throw inscription in there 2

Re: What to use as 2nd Profession?
The choise of professions really depends on what you are planning to do with your character, if you intend raiding or pvping a bit serious I wouldn´t recommend you to pick herb or any farm professions. This is due to the buffs you will get by picking enchanting (ring enchants), JC (bonus sockets), inscription (shoulder enchant) etc. Therefor the optimal will be to level up an alt and get those farm professions on him instead (herb, mining, skinning) and then have two greater professions with stat bonuses on your main. If you just wanna chill tho and don´t have the intension to do anything at a higher level herb can be really good since you will earn a lot of gold. As a combo to herb I would strongly recommend inscription since it will take value to your farmed mats and also will give you a sweet shoulder enchant which makes farming rep with hodir pointless. Alchemy will still make a good combo aswell tho and it will contribute you with flasks etc, but in the end I would go for inscription. |

Re: What to use as 2nd Profession?
Sorry i am a noob and have no idea what most of that means. I did recruit a friend with a friend and got high level so fast without learning the game and its mechanics. I don't know much about profession. This is my first character and i will use this as a main. But i also need gold because i have no other source of it. I wish to get this character to 80 and do serious raids and pvp with it. What i was told by my friend was that use mining since it is the best source of gold. I made 1.2k in the past 2days of just mining. and i have 40 Truesilver ores to sell. He said use second as whatever but i am reading on here that for warlock use enchanting and jewel crafting. Can someone please tell me what the two best professions for making money are? Once i have enough to get my flying bird i can get the ones for making my gear better. Can you also tell me two best from 5 you mentioned above enchanting / jewelcrafting / tailoring / alchemy / inscription. Then i can make another character for the money making professions. Sorry for this bad question but how do you know what allows you enchant your shoulders or ring or cloak?? And which is best armor piece is best to enchant? I would appreciate all the help thank you very much. Last edited by Evilbunz; April 05, 2009 at 12:20 AM.. |

Re: What to use as 2nd Profession?
ok so depending on what you really want to do wether it will be raiding or pvp. jewelcrafting and tailor. im going pvp and arena and i have decided to do tailoring because that will be my source of incoming seeing as the tailoring cooldown sells for quite alot of gold. + you get alot more frostweave when you farm humanoids and the enchant to your cloak giving you a chance on spell cast to grant you 250 spell power. that and jewelcrafting you get 3 unique gems only a jewelcrafter can socket into your items plus you get an additional 2 sockets you can place in your rings. however you will need to purchase all your mats for jc since you do not have mining to help you with this profession. im all about arena and pvp and so far this is what i have found to be the best of the professions that you can get. i know enchanting had the sp to rings but really i think that the tailoring enchant is worth more then 31 sp plus you can always get your pants enchanted from someone else. and the inscription shoulders cant really compare to that of the tailoring enchant to cloak. so i choose jc and tailoring. cloths sells! it would be wise though to make a dk since they are easy mode and go for mining. If I were you, I would mine and skin until I had my epic flyer and about $4k extra. Then switch to JC and tailor. |

Re: What to use as 2nd Profession?
if your a miner id say go with the jewlcrafting. you can make some sweet gems for your toon. to be honest im coming to the conclusion that alcemy is where the serious money is. goto an ah and count the # of flask of frostwyrm's that are there. then do a search in 5 mins intervals and watch how fast they move. they sell on aggramar from anywhere from 25g-45g each. and they sell like crack cocaine in the entertainment district lol. |

Re: What to use as 2nd Profession?
always hear jewel crafting is good with mining, plus you got to think that gems are used in higher level gear, so the people buying them from the AH will have lots of gold, so they will pay more... at least that's the way it works on my server, lol.

Re: What to use as 2nd Profession?
It really is a matter of what your objectives are. Money: Gathering professions are the money makers: Mining, Herbing, or Skinning. Owning a chopper: Need to be an engineer. Top Raid Gear: JC and Tailor or Enchanter |
