Inscription & Jewelcrafting

Well, considering I've pretty much given up on Tailoring, I'm wondering what to drop it for. I've seen a pretty intense shoulder enchant on inscription with +61 SP on it, so I figure that's too good to pass up.

So Inscription will be traded for tailoring.

Tailoring --> Inscription
Enchanting -->

That leaves me with Enchanting. Given the +19 SP to rings enchant, that's +38 SP bonus. Jewelcutting, mind you, allows you to have unique Jewels which add +32 SP, +27 Spirit, +27 Crit, +27 Haste, and +27 Hit. Naturally, you can only have 3. However, with one jewel being +32 SP, that gives you the option of having +27 Haste, and +27 Hit or Crit, or even Spirit if you want the extra Fel Armor buff. I believe any of those options is better than +6 SP, which makes it superior to Enchanting. In which case,

Tailoring --> Inscription
Enchanting --> Jewelcrafting.

Are there any better options? I know Tailoring gets a nice cloak enchant, but I don't believe it has enough overall DPS increase to interest me as much since it has a 45 second internal cooldown. +23 haste to cloak would do fine.

With this, assume 3/13/55.

Re: Inscription & Jewelcrafting

Its not a bad enchant at all but I think at the moment JC & BS is one of the best combos since BS can put extra sockets on hands and forgot what the other 1 was unlike us which can only add it to the belt

Re: Inscription & Jewelcrafting

Actually, the tailoring cloak enchant is currently the best of the tradeskill buffs. Second best is jewelcrafting, mostly due to the prismatic nature of the 3 supergems giving you extra socketbonusses besides the normal dps increase.

Assuming you are hitcapped due to gear, spellpower is the most valuable stat we have.

JC: 3 gems upgraded from 19 sp to 32 sp. 3x +13 sp = +39 sp increase (+socketbonusses)
BS: 2 extra sockets (gloves, bracers) gives 2 extra 19 sp gems = +38 sp increase
IN: shoulder enchant +61 sp compared to +24 from SoH enchant = +37 sp increase
EC: 2 ring enchants of +19 sp each = +38 sp increase
LW: bracer enchant +67 compared to +30 enchant = +37 sp increase
TA: 250 sp proc for 15 sec on 45 CD with 50% proc chance on any spell. calculated around ~75 sp. 75 sp over 23 haste = ~+50 sp increase

EN: haven't looked at it recently, but heard it's still crap.

Re: Inscription & Jewelcrafting

I thought there were some changes being made to the JC gems, to be not prismatic anymore? Anyone remembers?

@MDZ
Kilmir's list ist correct, in particular the Tailoring enchant is the best currently. JC seems second best currently, the others are more or less equal. I don't know where you get the +6 for enchanting, its +19.

Re: Inscription & Jewelcrafting

all tradeskill specific objects will have their stat boni increased to match the new epic gems (except for BS, since they benefit directly from the new gems with two additional gem sockets)

However, is there not that point where, in a raiding enviornment, haste becomes more valuable than SP until you've reached a certain amount.. making it more reasonable to take the +23 haste to cloak which requires no profession skill level, while reaching grandmaster jewelcutting and inscription to get those benefits?

I believe on elitist jerks it was decided that until you have about 400+ Haste and have reached the GCD, gearing for strictly SP is not as important. Again, assuming destruction warlock.
