Fun with Professions

I recently dropped skinning (450) on my pve warlock for inscription. I usually take skinning + another gathering profession on a new toon & keep it on the way up as I can skin the mobs i kill which I find 1. allows the mob to respawn faster & 2. I can vendor/AH the skins for gold. Gathering all the herbs needed to level inscription is nearly as slow as leveling enchanting but somewhat more colourful as instead of running low level instances endlessly for greens/blues to DE for mats you are out in the countryside .
I got to the level where I could learn scroll of recall1-returns you to the underbelly...results are unpredictable beyond level 40. This is a great toy-WoWlottery-where will I end up next ?
I have yet to hit the underbelly even though I am making (& using) scroll of recall2 but I have been to tanaris, darkshore, elwyn forest, dun moro etc.
Though I have maxed engineering on my warrior I have yet to see what toys are there for engineers & have not chosen goblin or gnomish engineering does anyone know if either is more fun?

I really enjoy goblin engineering. As long as you have an alt that can mine the ore you need, it is a great profession that is relatively inexpensive.

Check out these toys:

Dimensional Ripper - Everlook - Thottbot: World of Warcraft (goblin)
Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan - Thottbot: World of Warcraft (gnomish)
Zapthrottle Mote Extractor - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Crashin' Thrashin' Robot - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Dimensional Ripper - Area 52 - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Ultrasafe Transporter: Toshley's Station - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Rocket Boots Xtreme Lite - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Field Repair Bot 110G - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Control - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Scrapbot Construction Kit - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
MOLL-E - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Mechano-hog - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Mekgineer's Chopper - Thottbot: World of Warcraft

Yeah, engineering is cool, despite the arena/PvP naysayers out there. This is a game right? Aren't we supposed to have fun playing a game?

Re: Fun with Professions

I have some of the items you mentioned:-
Zapthrottle Mote Extractor - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Scrapbot Construction Kit - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Control - Thottbot: World of Warcraft & you can make just the epic version with having to make the standard version first.

The next thing to get is:-
MOLL-E - Thottbot: World of Warcraft & then work on the rest as time permits.

I am working on my rep so I can get :-
Mekgineer's Chopper - Thottbot: World of Warcraft
This is something I posted the other day:-

this is so much fun, i always keep some low level recalls on me when i get bored just to see where i end up. one time i ended up in dun morogh and walked outside right by the mechanostrider vendor and ended up buying one, lol (i am a gnome). i never bought one when i was able to get a mount because i had my warlock mount; no need for a mechanical turkey. so you never know what is going to happen next when you break out the old scroll of recall. hehe.

i usually use one when i am getting ready to hearth anyway, just to see where i end up, then if it is not in a decent place i will just hearth like i was meaning to anyway.
