Draft 1: Basics- found my posts on the subject and put them together in a semi-comprehensible manner. Draft 2: Expanded multiple sections, added some feedback, and also added an “Other Minion” section. Draft 3: Added in variations for Destro/Demo builds, better crediting, fixed the mini-guide for talent point allocation. Why "Drain Tank?" The art of "Drain Tanking" is considered to be the fastest leveling route a Warlock can... |

1) Haunt - totally awesome Affliction talent that returns a big bunch of HP when its duration is over. Apply it first of all when Drain Tanking and as soon as it is off cooldown apply it again unless the mob is almost dead. 2) Pet choice - now a Fel Hunter can dish out quite some dps and still be a mana battery. Imp cant do both. 3) Corruption is being kept renewed by applying Haunt so no need to renew Corruption. 4) On a mob with lots of HPs like quest elites you want to use your whole arsenal of DoTs and keep them all renewed so also use Unstable Affliction and Immolate. I have been successfully soloing the 350k HP quest mob (suggested for 5-man group) in Netherstorm since patch 3.0.2. Soloing Stratholme up to Baron for his Mount drop is now also very doable while before 3.0.2 it was very painful. |
